La Cisterna is a restaurant with a lot of personality. Their four main tenets are: up to date Catalan cuisine; optimum quality products local to the restaurant’s surroundings; comfortable, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, as well as excellent wines and liquors. All of these aspects are brought together in the cuisine of La Cisterna’s creative chef, whose most important purpose is to offer the best to every client. In keeping with this, the restaurant offers clients not only its year-round menu, but also a variety of seasonal menus which change and adapt according to seasonal products. This freshness and quality is translated from the ingredients directly into their dishes.
La Cisterna (the cistern) is named after the room that nowadays holds the cellar and, as you might already have guessed, used to be a cistern collecting rain water. Today it has been modified to keep in perfect conditions the restaurant´s collection of more than 200 wine and sparkling wine references, which include almost every Catalan denomination of origin, as well as some of the most important of the Spanish geography, to say nothing of the excellent liquors and spirits.
This ethically responsible restaurant is a member of the Grup Gastronòmic del Pla de l’Estany, which primarily aims to support organic and artisanal products and producers. It is also a member of the business group supporting Marca Cuina Catalana, an association committed to working for the promotion of Catalan culinary patrimony.
