The Font Moixina restaurant, which opened in 1890, is located in the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa. This is a place surrounded by fountains and vegetation that has been declared an area of geobotanical interest.
This restaurant is dedicated to the volcanic, market, traditional and seasonal cuisine, and it is identified as an updating traditional cuisine. This way, in its menu those dishes can be seen and in the pairings with jams from La Fageda. For example the baked cod with red pepper jam on a bed of potato and onion or the goat cheese sachet with onion marmalade and mushrooms.
Moreover, it has a menu of the day, a weekend menu, a children menu, a group menu and dishes for gluten-intolerant people. It also counts with a catering service and a take-away service.
This establishment is very active as it is part of several associations and groups of restaurants and very important shelters nearby, such as the Volcanic Cuisine Group, from which is co-founder, and the Inkeepers Association of La Garrotxa.

On Mondays and Sundays it opens from 11:00 to 19:00 and on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, it opens from 11:00 to 23:00. During summer it opens every day.

Absolutely stunning. Best meal I’ve had in a long time. The balance of ingredients, the plating, the ambience amongst the forest, the service - all par excellence. You must try the desserts. I am vegetarian and their options did not disappoint. Do yourself a favour - book this place and spoil and loved one.

As an American who has never been to a Michelin star restaurant, this was damn near close. To make it even better, I had no reservation and I came alone. For $40 I was served 4 separate courses, the chef explained all of them besides the dessert. He also explained them in perfect English. Quality was exceptional and I was treated with a lot of respect despite being underdressed and probably breaking countless other etiquette rules. I will remember this experience for a long time.

We loved the place. All the dishes were very tasty, it’s a gastronomic experience. The artichoke with fat jamón, the 24h slow cooked lamb, the fish with its skin which was perfectly cooked… dessert we were very happy with the bizcocho de Manzana. Service professional and environment nice. Located in the woods with a lot of parking.

Great food, pleasent surroundings and not expensive at all. Service was fast. The portions of the dishes were OK, but not completely satisfying . Some extras on the table (olive, alioli,...) would have made the experience complete.
