We went in July 2022, so full season, for lunch. The restaurant was not full but it was seriously understaffed. We had to wait more than one hour for drinks and a couple of tapas. The food is very mediocre. Classical dishes of rather low quality in execution.

Great food outside on the terrace - beautiful views to the old bridge - good service 👏

The crema catalana de frutos rojos is insanely tasty. Ask for the terrace inside, beautiful view of the entrance bridge of the city.

Food is very good. Price is reasonable. I love little medieval arcs in the restaurant. It’s a pretty place to dine even in winter. I’m so glad they are open :) Highly recommend everyone visiting Besalú to come here! This is even better than the Michelin I had yesterday 🙌🏻

The mussels (special tapas of the day) in a mild tomato sauce with hints of spice and chopped nuts was absolutely stunning. The hummus (also special tapas of the day) was also fantastic, served with crisp and delicate crostini bread. The Spanish omelette with potatoes and the Anchovies with olive oil were prepared and served in the typical local way. And the fresh orange juice was amazing (no need to add sugar, no idea why a sugar packet is served) this juice is perfect all natural as it is. Price is of good value for this high quality food. Lovely restaurant setting. The service staff did a great job. The restaurant was highly recommended to us by my colleagues who work-travel in the area and after our lunch experience here, we recommend it highly as well.
